His work in communications has been centred on health policy and NGO programmes with a focus on global health.
He has specialised in cross-cultural communication throughout his career, and has worked on assignment in positions in London, Paris, Delhi, Nairobi, Chicago and New York, as well as project experience in Latin America and sub-Saharan Africa, and work with the WHO and other multilateral NGOs.
He has always recognised the power of communications to deliver policy change, and spent nearly two years in Brussels working on health system and development projects with European institutions, particularly the Commission and the European Parliament.
This, and involvement with HIV/AIDS policy advocacy in Europe, led to a his specialising in public health and social marketing communications and international media relations.
Currently he is serving as interim Country Director for Marie Stopes Mali.
