Tim joined MSI in 1988 because our mission is his passion. He became a trustee in 1997 and Chair in 2005.
He is a UK and European registered specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology who who first trained as a surgeon and had a Harley St practice for 10 years with a global clientele.
For MSI Tim worked as a consultant initiating many of our programmes and was the international medical advisor for 9 years traveling extensively across five continents. Later as a trustee and then Chair Tim has helped guide the appointment of two new CEOs and five of the seven Trustees.
As Chair he has dedicated his energy to ensuring MSI has a Board with a robust governance structure and in the last four years guiding it through a post founder transition. He is devoted to ensuring that the Board priority is focused on the Mission and that it facilitates the CEO to provide quality medical services to our clients. The priority is maximum impact with accountability and transparency.
Outside of his work with MSI Tim has had extensive overseas experience providing care for women in conflict zones and refugee situations. This has involved working for Government and international organisations including efforts to introduce legislation favourable to women's reproductive rights. Tim also worked towards the repatriation of refugees from Hong Kong detainment camps, the treatment of Palestinians during the Lebanese civil war and the special needs of women in the Balkans civil war.
For the last two years he has also been committed to the succession planning of the MSI Board.Back to team
