Michelle has had a long and distinguished career in health working in Australia and overseas. Her strategic approach, commercial savvy and innovation has seen her transform health care organisations into leading providers of patient-centre care. Her career has spanned acute health, primary health care, aged care, disability services, veterans affairs and health care regulation.
She was the architect behind the commissioning model for Medicare Locals and, in her role as CEO, has transformed hospitals such as the Mater Hospital in Townsville and Newcastle and the Williamstown Hospital and Western Hospital.
Michelle is a passionate advocate for data-driven decision making. She has constantly championed transparency in patient outcomes and is an unwavering advocate for placing the patient at the centre of our health care system. Michelle has brought her energy, innovation and passion for quality to the sexual and reproductive health sector as CEO of Marie Stopes Australia.
