Country Director, Marie Stopes Kenya
Before joining us, Dana worked at PSI for 19 years, most recently as the Director of the Women’s Health Project. In this role, she oversaw the creation of safe abortion and post-abortion care (PAC) programmes in 18 countries. Prior to that, she worked as Country Director for PSI in Pakistan with Greenstar, managing US$100 million in funding for PAC, family planning, maternal and child health, WASH, child nutrition, HIV and tuberculosis interventions.
In the first years of her career, Dana worked in South Sudan and Mozambique with the UN World Food Programme. The work she is most proud of has been in changing people’s views around the world on the necessity of making safe abortion accessible to women.
Dana holds a Master of Science degree in Public Health (MSPH) from Harvard University, with a focus on family planning, reproductive and maternal and child health, malaria, and health communications. Additionally she also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University, with a focus on Asia and the Chinese language.Back to team
