Country Director, Marie Stopes Mali
Bakary Sidibe was born and grew up in Cote d’Ivoire, but has been a US citizen for the last 30 years.
He has a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development, with a focus in Development Management and Leadership; a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology; and a Graduate Certificate in leadership in Public Health.
Bakary has more than 25 years of professional experience, including 20 years working in international development, especially in global health and humanitarian work. He has held leadership positions in several countries, including South Sudan, Liberia, and Democratic Republic of Congo, with organisations such as Project Concern International, IRC, IMA World Health, UNFPA and Global Health Action.
His last position before joining Marie Stopes International was with Last Mile Health as the Country Director in Liberia. Bakary describes himself as passionate about social justice.Back to team
