Since 2006, Patricia has been working with the Gates Foundation, most recently as Senior Program Officer for Global Health Delivery. Patricia had a portfolio of grants in financial innovation, product development, new programmes and technologies, including a programme for financial innovation to sustain malaria control with five African Ministries and global partners.
After gaining her MBA from Stanford, Patricia's interest in reproductive health took her to Concentric Media, a television production company, where she worked on a number of films promoting sexual and reproductive health, before joining Dow Jones in New York in 1995.
Following time in Buenos Aires supporting the Argentine government on a range of policy and operational areas connected with the telecoms industry, Patricia began her career in global development with a move to Teledesic – a global satellite communications company working with developing economies – as Business Development Director. There she worked with a range of external partners to develop a market access and distribution strategy.
Patricia then joined PATH, leading commercial activities for the Gates Foundation-funded malaria vaccine programme.
Patricia's commitment to global development has been longstanding, growing out of her early volunteering work with the Planned Parenthood Federation in the US where she became President of the San Mateo County Board.
At Marie Stopes International we’re delighted that Patricia will be part of the team delivering our groundbreaking Power of 10 strategy and helping us to achieve our mission, children by choice not by chance.
