Time to act: we can and must do more to save women's lives

This week, world leaders meet in New York to discuss the future of global development. We want to remind them, and everyone, that women die unnecessarily from unsafe abortion, every day. This is a tragedy. But we know how to stop it. It's time to act.

Throughout history, in every country, women find themselves faced with a pregnancy they didn’t intend. The consequences can be dire. In the world today there are:
